Let me first tell you what this is NOT.
This is not content-mill quality, thin content.
You’re not going to get a paraphrase of a paraphrase of some other content writer’s blog post on the internet.
You’re not going to get one more useless article that’s “not really meant for people to see, it’s just for Google keyword purposes.”
I’ve seen this over and over again. Businesses hire content writers, and then they end up with a blog that they’re actually ashamed for people to see because it’s so bad. So the link to the blog is buried down in the footer.
Let’s just get this straight.
If you’re actually hoping that no human will ever read your blog, that’s messed up.
It’s not even good for SEO if it’s not valuable to people.
[End Rant]
Good Quality, Industry-Specific Articles are Hard to Hire Out
Here’s the problem (and why the above situation is SO common):
It’s really hard to hire the kind of article writers who can write knowledgeably and intelligently about your industry.
You want someone to showcase your expertise in a positive light. You want someone who can write fluently and engagingly about the topic. You want the article to be free from embarrassing errors.
But finding that is like finding a needle in a haystack.
If you go to a content mill, of course that’s going to be a joke.
If you go to a marketing agency that has staff writers, those writers almost certainly do not have experience in your industry. And they don’t have the time or the inclination to learn it. So they’re going to put in the bare minimum of effort, and you’re going to get an article that’s extremely basic.
But that’s not going to do anything for your business.
It’s not going to be link-worthy.
It’s not going to get people talking.
It’s not going to help your peers and customers to understand why you’re special.
That kind of article simply won’t move the needle.
So where do you go?
If you go to industry insiders, they’re busy doing their own work, not writing for others.
If you go to creative writers, they want to write novels and stick to “their favorite topics,” not dive into the technical details of someone’s business.
So if you go to CEO Copywriting, what’s different?
Article Ghostwriting for Industry Experts
My service is a hybrid of your expertise and my writing skill. Kind of like ghostwriting.
Let’s acknowledge the fact that I don’t have expertise in your industry, either.
But you do.
With my proprietary process, I’ll extract the knowledge from your head and turn it into a well-written, thoughtful article that shows you at your best and even sounds like you.
It’ll require a bit of upfront strategy to define the right topics that will highlight your expertise, with the goal of giving your readers something better than they can find elsewhere on the internet.
And then, it’ll require about one hour of your time per month, on a recorded video call where I’ll interview you, ask you questions, and get the substance of the piece.
You’ll have the opportunity to review the draft before it’s published to make sure that everything is represented accurately and explained clearly. You’ll have the opportunity to make revisions.
And you’ll finally have a process for reliably publishing high-quality content that sets you apart and helps to get you noticed.
This service is great for people in technical specialties such as engineering, medicine, or financial services.
I can blend in warmth and humanness or not.
I can blend in a sale and a call to action or not.
I can make it really easy for the average person to understand, or I can leave it high-level for your peers.
Your call.
It’s not going to be as cheap as the content mill option. But the point of this service is to move the needle for you, not just churn out content.
- More accolades for you.
- More visitors to your website
- More people linking to your stuff
- More people talking about you at trade shows and conference
- More people seeing you as a thought leader in your space.
It’s kind of like the difference between cranking out thousands of hamburgers at McDonalds versus being a chef at a 5-star restaurant and carefully crafting the most delicious prime rib.
You can hire a person to do either one. It’s a choice.
If you’re a prime rib kind of person, we should talk.
